Notes |
- Robert Stuart, fifth Seigneur d'Aubigny, Marechal de France, who was born circa 1470 and died in 1543. Like his older brother, William, he served under his first cousin once removed General Bernard Stuart, Seigneur d'Aubigny, in the French army. He succeeded Bernard in his fief of Aubigny and rose to the highest military rank in France, that of Marechal. Robert was twice married, first, to his second cousin Duchesse Anne Stuart, daughter of Bernard, first Duca de Terranuova and Marchese de Girace, Seigneur d'Aubigny and de St. Quentin, without issue; and secondly to Mlle. Jacqueline de la Queuille, daughter and heiress of Francois, Seigneur de la Queuille, also without issue.
Stewart03: The Scots Peerage (Lennox), The Scots Peerage (Kings of Scotland), Burkes Peerages 1934 (Kings of England) maintains that his second wife was Jacqueline de Longueville. [4]
